2026 National Holidays: A Celebration That Brought Our Entire Community Together

Throughout September, our Vitacura and Chamisero campuses were filled with music, dancing, games, and Chilean traditions as we celebrated Fiestas Patrias together with our students, their families, and our educational teams.

Each grade level organized various activities to explore our country's cultural expressions, during events that combined learning, creativity, and celebration.

Vitacura

In Maternelle, our youngest students enjoyed a week full of color, music, creativity, and tradition. In PS, the students paraded around the track in front of their families, wearing traditional costumes representing different regions of Chile and the cultures of our indigenous peoples. In GS, the “Chilean Wildlife Expo” was held, where the exhibits featured QR codes that allowed visitors to learn more about each species through audio narrations recorded by the students themselves. Meanwhile, the boys and girls in MS surprised their families with folk dance performances inspired by different communities and regions across the country.

In elementary school, students from CP (1st grade) through CM2 (5th grade) delighted their families with the traditional National Holidays Show, in which they performed dances in traditional costumes from different regions of the country and surprised the audience with entertaining skits.

To end the event on a high note, parents and children had the chance to dance the cueca together!

In middle school, various activities took place throughout the week. Students from 6ème (6th grade) through Terminale (12th grade) participated in a massive cueca dance, traditional games, and a rousing group sing-along of “Hijo del sol luminoso” by Joe Vasconcellos. They also observed a tradition that marks the beginning of the farewell for students graduating from the school this year: the final cueca dance performed by the 12th-grade students.

Chamisero

In Preschool, our little ones in PS, MS, and GS came together for an entertaining performance of traditional dances from Chile’s various indigenous peoples. The celebration culminated in a special moment when parents and children danced the cueca together.

In Elementary School, students from CP to CM2 (1st through 5th grade) shared some of the richness and diversity of our traditions with their families through an incredible show filled with music and dance. And that wasn’t all! They also enjoyed a fun-filled day of traditional games, including emboque, tug-of-war, three-legged races, la ratonera, and ring toss.

In middle school, from 6ème (6th grade) to 1ère (9th grade), our students filled the field with color, delighting their families with folk dances representative of the country’s various regions. To wrap up the day, the Terminale (12th grade) students took center stage for an emotional finale, dancing their final school cueca alongside their parents.

Celebrating Our Traditions as a Community

The Fiestas Patrias provided an opportunity for our students to learn about, experience, and appreciate different expressions of Chilean culture, sharing these experiences with their classmates, teachers, and families—all from a perspective that integrates learning, identity, and community.

Congratulations to our students for their enthusiasm, dedication, and participation!
We thank all the teams and teachers who made these events possible, especially the Physical Education (EPS) teachers—who organized and guided the students—and the families for joining us and being part of this celebration of our traditions.
